VAO Science tools were demonstrated  at the Astronomical Data Analysis Software and Systems (ADASS) conference in Urbana, Illinois, November 4-8, 2012. ADASS is an annual conference that provides a forum for scientists and programmers concerned with algorithms, software, and software systems employed in the acquisition, reduction, analysis, and dissemination of astronomical data.

The VAO presence at ADASS included the following sessions:

  • Oral presentation Three Applications, a Workshop, and a Cloud
  • Focus demo on VO Desktop Tools: IRAF, Command-line Tasks and Python
  • Birds of a Feather session on Application Interoperability with SAMP
  • Poster titled “Extending Iris, the VAO SED Analysis Tool
  • Demo of the Data Discovery Tool with the Mikulski Archive for Space Telescopes
